Career Wellbeing

Your career should support your life, not consume it

A successful career isn't necessarily one that looks impressive from the outside.

It's one that works for you.

Your energy. Your values. Your priorities. Your relationships. Your health. Your stage of life.

Career wellbeing is about understanding the relationship between your work and your overall wellbeing and making intentional choices about how you want your working life to look.

When your career no longer feels sustainable

You may be successful on paper but struggling behind the scenes.

Perhaps you're:

  • Constantly exhausted by work

  • Finding it difficult to switch off

  • Feeling like work has taken over your life

  • Struggling to maintain boundaries

  • Losing motivation or enjoyment

  • Questioning whether your current role is sustainable

  • Feeling guilty about wanting something different

  • Trying to balance career ambitions with family or other priorities

  • Wondering whether you should stay, change roles or change direction

You don't necessarily need to leave your career.

But something may need to change.

What is career wellbeing?

Career wellbeing sits at the intersection of career development and personal wellbeing.

It asks questions such as:

Does my work fit the life I want?

Am I using my strengths in ways that energise me?

Are my expectations of myself sustainable?

What do I actually need from my career at this stage of life?

What would a successful career look like if wellbeing was part of the definition of success?

These aren't always easy questions to answer.

That's where having someone outside your situation can help.

Together, we can explore

Energy and capacity
Understanding what gives you energy, what drains it and what your current capacity realistically allows.

Values and priorities
Clarifying what matters to you now, particularly when your priorities have changed.

Boundaries and sustainability
Exploring the patterns, expectations and working conditions that may be making your career unsustainable.

Career fit
Looking at whether your role, environment and way of working align with your needs.

Meaning and motivation
Understanding what you want your work to contribute to your life and sense of purpose.

Future direction
Considering what needs to change,  whether that's within your current career or through a larger transition.

You don't have to choose between ambition and wellbeing.

I believe you can be ambitious and protect your energy.

You can care about your career and want more time for your life.

You can want meaningful work without sacrificing yourself to achieve it.

My role is to help you understand what sustainable success looks like for you.
